To make an appointment with the doctor please call in at, or telephone the surgery (01773 712552 / 715955).
You may see any of the doctors, although we do ask that you try to stay with one doctor for each problem if possible to help provide continuity of care. Appointments for specific doctors are usually available within one or two days, but if you are unable to wait then the surgery runs a Nurse Practitioner triage service each day. This service is available for those patients who feel they need to be seen on the same day. Patients will be assessed by our Nurse Practitioner, also be seen and treated if needed, but redirected to a GP if more appropriate. You NO LONGER have to phone at 8am for an appointment on the day. The Nurse Practitioner is available between 8am-3.30pm each day.
Our Nurse Practitioner can offer advice and treatment on many minor ailments that DO NOT need to be seen by a GP. Please pick up a leaflet in Reception for more information on this service or download here.
Triage Service leaflet
The Extended Hours service in the late evening (see opening times) is provided for those patients who find it difficult to attend during normal surgery hours because of work etc. This is not an emergency service and is ONLY for pre-booked routine appointments. Unfortunately during this time we are not able to deal with general enquiries or 'walk-in' patients.
Please remember that the reception staff are trying to juggle the needs of in excess of 7400 patients and are human too!
Appointments with the practice nurse can be made in the same way. The nurses are available to deal with chronic disease management (including Heart Disease, Diabetes and Asthma), immunisation (including travel inoculation and advice), cervical smears, all injections, well-person checks, dietary or general health advice and some family planning.
A routine appointment is 10 minutes long. Please remember a separate appointment is needed for each patient. If you have several problems to discuss with the doctor please ask to book a double (20 minute) appointment. We do our best to run to time but emergencies or complex cases may sometimes cause us to run late. Reception staff will try to let you know when this happens.
On-Line Appointment Booking
Why wait for the surgery to open? Have you registered for our On-line services? You can book an appointment for any of the doctors, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please see our further information link on the menu, or contact Reception to register for this service, and save yourself some time in the future.

- Tell us if you need to cancel an appointment. Please notify staff on reception, who will then be able to offer the time to another patient, and therefore the appointment is not wasted.
Text Message Reminder Service - This service provides you with a text reminder when you make the appointment and also 48 hours before your appointment time. All you need to do is call us with your mobile telephone number and keep this up to date.
